Compreendendo o Processo de Implantação da Coleta Mecanizada de Lixo na Cidade de Uberlândia - MG

Abstract

Introduction: We live in a world where unbridled consumption generates an unsustainable pattern of waste generation! Issues related to the preservation of the environment are a constant concern in the world, and society is increasingly organizing itself in search of alternatives that provide a better quality of life. In the first article, the relevance of the research refers to the importance of understanding the implementation of mechanized household waste collection in the city of Uberlândia MG in the context of technological innovation in waste management. In the second article, there is a need to understand the risks and health problems faced by household waste collectors. Objectives: To understand the process of implementing mechanized household waste collection in the city of Uberlândia - MG, through notifications from the Uberlândia City Council (PMU) and Municipal Water and Sewage Department (DMAE) until 2024 in the first article, and in the second to analyze the risks and health problems to which household waste collectors are subjected. Methodology: The first article is a narrative literature review, with an exploratory- descriptive objective and a qualitative approach, based on a survey, discussion and documentary analysis of bibliographic references pertinent to the theme of mechanized collection and the implementation of containers. The second article is a retrospective literature review based on materials already prepared, through secondary sources. Results: As this dissertation refers to equivalent work, we present two articles as results. The first is “Understanding the process of implementing mechanized household waste collection in the city of Uberlândia MG” and the second is “Risks and health problems of household waste collectors: A literature review”. The two articles were published in RECIMA21.
