Doroty e Dércio Marques: geográfos da canção

Abstract

This thesis aims to understand the relationship between musical phenomenons and geographic spaces through Music Geography. This research considers the musical repertoire of Doroty and Dércio Marques, in their works: Semente and Espelho D'água. The methodology used is "content analysis" based on a geopoetic understanding of the content of the lyrics. This study covers the soundscape and the natural elements of water and earth, man's relationship with the environment and the unfolding of his identity and affections. Theoretical literature on the remote and closer orgins to the theme <Music Geography= following aspects of Cultural Geography, and especially the way some geographers, who have dedicated themselves to music in geography, defined its types and trends serve as reference to the theme in question. Sequentially, another study was able to record and register the life and work of Doroty and Dércio Marques, connecting them with the works of their musical partners from different states of Brazil and Latin American countries. Finally, this study shows the Marques' view of man and of the world, perceived in their positionings revealed in the lyrics of their songs, in which man and nature are integrated in a
