Processos de escolha: reflexões a partir do filme "O Doador de Memórias"

Abstract

The cinematographic scenario has been gaining more and more space due to the accessibility promoted by streaming tools that transmit content over the internet without the need to download anything. Thus, it is possible to find several productions that stimulate current reflections in individuals. In this sense, this paper aims to present the concepts of vocation, self-knowledge, professional identity and the process of choice and reflect on them using an audiovisual - ludic resource, the movie "The Giver". This will be analyzed in the light of the methodology presented by Penafria (2009), trying to elucidate its development and suggest an interpretation for it. To perform this analysis, it is necessary to break down the film into two stages: description and interpretation. Among the four types of analysis - textual, poetic, image and sound, content, this study used the content approach, which considers the film a story. It is considered that this audiovisual resource is a powerful and mediating materiality in the process of awareness and recognition of the concepts addressed, since it promotes reflections and facilitates identifications in the subject. In this sense, one can point to the importance of the subject being free to choose his or her professional destiny, since one can only assume some responsibility when one has a certain degree of autonomy. Finally, the work invites us to be attentive to the scarcity of references about the methodology of filmic analysis, with broader and more structured methods, emphasizing its use as a ludic resource for learning and a source of potential reflection.
