Diário “Vislumbres de que ela está ali”: A Poética Materna do Enquanto como trama da produção artística e acadêmica

Abstract

This work investigates motherhood as the driving force of artistic production, taking as its theoretical axis the Poética Materna do Enquanto (Maternal Poetics of the Meanwhile), proposed by Marta Mencarini Guimarães (2024). The research is structured through autoethnography, which allows intimate experiences to be embraced and connected to the social sphere, legitimizing everyday life as a space for artistic and academic production. The study unfolds as a diary and, throughout its course, revisits earlier series of works that preceded the central production, such as How to Discover Being a Daughter from Being a Mother, marked by the elaboration of painful feelings; Dequitação, developed in the Graphic Processes Studio, where the materiality of printmaking and the poetics of the archive were explored; and Dilatei e Expandi, a serigraph that affirms the creative power of the maternal body. The core of this monograph focuses on the painting series Vislumbres de que ela está ali (Glimpses that She Is There), composed of five works that depict fragments of domestic spaces traversed by the presence of the child. Produced from photographic records of the home, the paintings establish dialogues between the intimate and the collective, between everyday life and artistic creation, between memory and invention. The process unfolds not despite interruptions, but through them, affirming pauses, fragmentations, and fissures as legitimate modes of artistic production. As a result, this research points to motherhood as a creative and investigative force, reaffirming autoethnography as a fertile methodology for studies that seek to blur the boundaries between life, art, and academia.
