| Summary: | O presente trabalho apresenta uma possível leitura para textos em que Descartes trata da percepção sensível. Descartes parece sempre apresentar a percepção segundo uma distinção chave entre percepções e vontades ou entre ideias e outros tipos de pensamento. O objetivo aqui é esclarecer no que essa distinção consiste e se ela é a mesma ao longo da obra de Descartes. Além disso, o trabalho visa explorar como essa distinção é usada por Descartes em pontos importantes de sua filosofia, tais quais: sua teoria do juízo, a prova da existência das coisas matérias, a explicação a interação da alma com o corpo e a definição de paixão da alma. O objeto imediato da investigação é a Terceira e a Sexta meditações, a Parte um dos Princípios da filosofia e a Primeira Parte das Paixões da alma. Outros textos como a Segunda, a Quarta e a Quinta meditações, as Primeiras e Quartas Respostas e correspondência com Elisabeth são usadas para auxiliar nessa interpretação. |
| Abstract: | This paper presents a possible reading for texts in which Descartes deals with sensible perception. Descartes always seems to present perception according to a key distinction between perceptions and wills or between ideas and other types of thought. The aim here is to clarify what this distinction consists of and whether it is the same throughout Descartes' work. In addition, the paper aims to explore how this distinction is used by Descartes at important points in his philosophy, such as: his theory of judgment, the proof of the existence of material things, the explanation of the soul's interaction with the body and the definition of the soul's passion. The immediate object of investigation is the Third and Sixth Meditations, Part One of the Principles of Philosophy, Part One of the Passions of the Soul. Other texts such as the Second, Fourth and Fifth Meditations, the First and Fourth Replies and correspondence with Elisabeth are used to aid this interpretation. |
