Anatomia humana na educação básica: projeto de extensão “isso tem em mim? uma viagem pelo corpo humano” da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

Abstract

The extension project "Is this in me? A journey through the human body” conceived by students of the Nursing Course from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), aimed primarily to establish a playful dialogue with children about human anatomy and physiology, promoting body awareness and stimulating scientific curiosity. Additionally, it sought to provide an enriching teaching experience for the students involved in the project. The project was developed between August and December 2023 through the implementation of educational, dialogical, and voluntary participation workshops, with consent from the guardians, in public and private elementary schools in Uberlândia-MG, targeting children aged 4 to 8 years. The workshops lasted approximately two hours and included six pedagogical activities: a talking circle, body traffic lights dynamic, songs and games, puppet dynamics, reading of the project's original book, and learning stations about basic anatomy. The respiratory, circulatory, digestive, urogenital, immune, and nervous systems were addressed using language appropriate for the children's age group. The documentation and dissemination of the project were conducted digitally through an Instagram page. The project reached 12 schools, impacting a total of 808 children, and actively engaged them in promoting the teaching of Human Anatomy in an inclusive and collaborative manner. The extension action proved to be effective in establishing a significant bond between the University and the community, highlighting the emancipatory nature of education as a promoter of knowledge and social change.
