Interseccionalidade e migrações: inserção socioeconômica de mulheres venezuelanas em Uberlândia-MG

Abstract

The dissertation aims to understand the migration of Venezuelan women to Brazil from an intersectional perspective. The study will be developed through a literature review and qualitative research, including interviews with Venezuelan women residing in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. The central hypothesis is that the absence of public policies aimed at the integration of migrants and refugees in the municipality exacerbates the vulnerability experienced by these women, making civil society organizations their main point of reference and support. In this context, intersectionality provides an analytical lens capable of deepening the understanding of female migratory trajectories and experiences. The research is justified by the need to highlight the presence and role of women in the Venezuelan migratory flow, enabling a better understanding of the specificities of their experiences. The municipal-level analysis also highlights the importance of expanding the debate on migration policies at the local level in Brazil. The first chapter presents a reflection on the feminization of migration and on intersectionality as a theoretical tool, based on the analysis of authors who have employed this perspective in studies on female migration. The second chapter addresses Venezuelan migration, considering both the context of origin and the arrival in Brazil, with particular attention to the national response structured through Operação Acolhida and the Interiorization Program. The third chapter discusses the Brazilian migratory context and the normative framework for the protection of migrants, analyzing how this apparatus has been mobilized for the regularization of the Venezuelan population. Finally, the fourth chapter presents data on the migration of Venezuelan women to Brazil, emphasizing the absence of public policies in Uberlândia-MG, as well as the results obtained from the interviews conducted.
