| Summary: | O alto índice de produção de resíduos global, com 77 milhões de toneladas anuais no Brasil, exige a transição da economia linear para a economia circular. Atualmente, a maior parte dos resíduos vai para aterros, com baixa taxa de reciclagem e compostagem. Este trabalho propõe um centro comunitário de compostagem de resíduos orgânicos para Uberlândia (MG), visando reduzir o descarte em aterros, promover a recuperação de materiais e contribuir para um sistema mais sustentável. O projeto se baseia em estudos de resíduos e técnicas de compostagem, detalhando um modelo de centro que atuará em rede para conscientização, coleta e reaproveitamento. |
| Abstract: | The high global waste production rate, reaching 77 million tons annually in Brazil alone, necessitates a transition from the linear to a circular economy. Currently, most waste is sent to landfills, with low recycling and composting rates. This study proposes a community composting center for organic waste in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, aiming to reduce landfill disposal, promote material recovery, and contribute to a more sustainable system. The project is based on waste studies and composting techniques, detailing a model center that will operate within a network for awareness, collection, and reuse. |
