O potencial da trilha musical na narrativa de uma obra cinematográfica: uma análise do tema "Airgela" na animação "O menino e o mundo"

Abstract

This work examines the musical soundtrack of the Brazilian animated feature film "O Menino e o Mundo" (2013) through a musical analysis of its most recurring theme, entitled "Airgela". Present in different versions throughout the film, this theme accompanies the protagonist's journey throughout the story. The study aims to explore and understand the transformations of the musical theme "Airgela" and its interplay with the film's visual and narrative elements. The research begins with a discussion of the role of music in cinema, followed by an overview of the soundtrack of "O Menino e o Mundo". It includes selected excerpts from an interview with the composers of the soundtrack, Gustavo Kurlat and Ruben Feffer, which provides insights into their compositional process. Finally, we present a musical analysis of the different appearances of the musical theme "Airgela", highlighting its melodic, rhythmic, and harmonic characteristics.
