| Title: | Guerra Fria e a ascensão do Neoliberalismo como projeto sociopolítico: uma relação complexa e mutualística |

| Summary: | Este artigo propõe uma análise de dois eventos — o final da Guerra Fria e a ascensão do Neoliberalismo — em que determinado momento houve uma sobreposição temporal crucial para esses fenômenos, conectando-os na história. Como objetivo geral, considera-se investigar, através de uma análise histórica, se há, e em que sentido ocorre, uma relação “mutualística”, mas não causal, entre a ascensão do Neoliberalismo e a Guerra Fria; e se (e como) as políticas e práticas neoliberais fornecem base para a consolidação de uma pretensa vitória de um projeto de sociedade neoliberal. Conclui-se que embora não haja uma causalidade direta, é possível apreender uma relação complexa e mutualística entre o período final da Guerra Fria e a ascensão do Neoliberalismo, de sorte que, como defendido neste trabalho, a Guerra Fria atuou como um cenário capaz de catalisar e acelerar a difusão do Neoliberalismo. |
| Abstract: | This article proposes an analysis of two events - the end of the Cold War and the rise of Neoliberalism - during which there was a crucial temporal overlap connecting these phenomena in history. As the main purpose, the study aims to investigate, through historical analysis, whether there is, and in what sense there exists, a “mutualistic” but not causal relationship between the rise of Neoliberalism and the Cold War, and whether (and how) neoliberal policies and practices provide a foundation for the consolidation of an alleged victory of a neoliberal societal project. It concludes that although there is no direct causality, there was a strong relationship between the final period of the Cold War and the rise of Neoliberalism, in which, as will be argued in this work, the Cold War served as a scenario capable of catalyzing and accelerating the diffusion of Neoliberalism. |
