| Summary: | Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a origem, a evolução e o impacto dos BRICS na hegemonia norte-americana, à luz da construção de uma nova ordem mundial. Para tanto, adotase a metodologia econométrica de dados em painel, com o propósito de testar a hipótese de que os BRICS têm desempenhado um papel ativo nas esferas geopolítica, econômica e militar. Os resultados obtidos indicam que a estabilidade política e os gastos militares dos países membros têm exercido influência significativa na configuração de uma nova ordem mundial, reforçando a tese de que os BRICS possuem a capacidade de desafiar a hegemonia dos Estados Unidos. Apesar do poder americano, das limitações internas e dos desafios enfrentados pelo bloco, os BRICS têm promovido uma influência crescente na ordem global, favorecendo uma governança mais multipolar. |
| Abstract: | This paper aims to analyze the origin, evolution and impact of the BRICS on U.S. hegemony, in the context of the construction of a new world order. To this end, it employs an econometric panel data methodology to test the hypothesis that the BRICS have played an active role in the geopolitical, economic, and military spheres. The results indicate that the political stability and military spending of the member countries have had a significant influence on the shaping of a new world order, reinforcing the thesis that the BRICS have the capacity to challenge U.S. hegemony. Despite American power, internal limitations, and the challenges faced by the bloc, the BRICS have been fostering a growing influence on the global order, promoting a more multipolar governance. |
