| Summary: | A ocupação japonesa na península coreana (1910 - 1945) trouxe diversas mudanças para o extremo leste asiático, sendo uma delas a migração em massa de coreanos. Por esse motivo, o presente trabalho pretende analisar através das representações da 2ª e 3ª geração, Noa e Solomon, do livro Pachinko, como se dá a formação das identidades étnicas e os dilemas de pertencimento da diáspora Zainichi, um grupo étnico de coreanos no Japão. À luz da teoria pós-colonial de Homi K. Bhabha, busca-se compreender a complexidade da formação e construção de identidades híbridas através da história dessas personagens e os dilemas enfrentados por essa comunidade. Entende-se que as personagens revelam como as experiências geracionais refletem de formas diferentes, tendo Noa negando sua hibridização para ser aceito pela sociedade japonesa e Solomon, influenciado por um mundo mais multicultural, aceitando a multiplicidade de sua identidade. |
| Abstract: | The Japanese occupation of the Korean Peninsula (1910–1945) brought numerous changes to East Asia, one of which was the mass migration of Koreans. For this reason, the present work aims to analyze, through the representations of the 2nd and 3rd generations, Noa and Solomon, from the book Pachinko, how ethnic identities are formed and the dilemmas of belonging within the Zainichi diaspora, an ethnic group of Koreans in Japan. In light of Homi K. Bhabha’s postcolonial theory, this study seeks to understand the complexities of hybrid identity formation and construction through the stories of these characters and the dilemmas faced by this community. It is understood that the characters reveal how generational experiences differ, with Noa denying his hybridity to be accepted by Japanese society and Solomon, influenced by a more multicultural world, embracing the multiplicity of his identity. |
