Serviço social: um relato de experiência com a alta a pedido em saúde da criança

Abstract

The objective of this article aims to reflect on action of the Social Worker as a member of the multidisciplinary team and relate cases of hospital admission to social demand, in view of the risk or effect of hospital evasion and with a view to effecting a discharge safe hospital. These reflections emerge from concerns regarding the recurring number of demands that sought resolutions through the intervention of the Social Service regarding the implementation of hospital discharges, especially discharges in absentia in the pediatric ward, high-risk maternity wards/rooming-in and in the Neonatal Unit, at the Hospital de Clínicas (HC/UFU). Questions were raised about the role of the multidisciplinary team in meeting this demand and the reason for the recurrence of cases. Therefore, the need for multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary work to meet the different demands brought by users and their families from the beginning of their hospital stay, as well as the commitment to the implementation of the rights and principles of the SUS, is put on the agenda, until safe hospital discharge. This is a report of professional experience of bibliographic review and empirical observation. To this end, a qualitative approach was carried out and literature review and documentary research, field diary records, articles and legislation that address the aforementioned object of study were used to guide the analyzes and discussions of this work. The aim of this work is to achieve answers to the intended objectives, with a view to a more assertive conduct by the multidisciplinary team in the face of such a delicate situation as discharge in absentia from the pediatric ward and maternity ward of the aforementioned hospital.
