Pesquisa bibliográfica: o uso das telas por crianças em contexto pandêmico (COVID-19)

Abstract

In the global scenario, we have recently experienced the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought political economic and social impacts to different countries such as Brazil. During this period life and social interactions suffered abrupt changes. This work aimed to conduct a literature review which sought to identify and analyze national scientific productions addressing the use of screens by children during the COVID-19 pandemic. The material survey was carried out through the CAPES/MEC platform, with full articles selected published from 2020 to 2022 in the Portuguese language. Off these only six (n=6) complies with the inclusion criteria for the research. From analysis of qualitative two categories of analysis were constructed: 1) the use of screen and family daily life and 2) the use of screens and the school context. The analyzed information indicated that throughout the pandemic children’s screen use occurred for educational and entertainment purposes becoming one of the main activities for children during social distancing. It was evident that the implementation of remote learning by schools impacted family and institutional dynamics contributing to increased screen usage in childhood. Challenges in monitoring children's screen use and distancing from physical and playful activities were identified as issues influencing child development. Thus we emphasize the need for the development of new research on the investigated theme including different ages and socioeconomic positions of participants to understand and expand actions and reflections in the field.
