| Summary: | O contínuo lançamento de novos títulos em determinadas franquias audiovisuais movimenta uma série de profissionais no ramo da tradução. Principalmente no caso de Star Wars, diversas obras são lançadas todos os anos, e com a solidificação da franquia na cultura popular, seus elementos são constantemente referenciados em outras mídias que também serão traduzidas. Sendo assim, este trabalho propõe a produção e disponibilização de um vocabulário bilíngue inglês/português de Star Wars no VoTec (Vocabulário Técnico Online), um ambiente web de gestão terminológica para tradutores iniciantes e profissionais. Para isso, foi levantado um corpus referente ao universo canônico de Star Wars, incluindo filmes, livros, séries e animações, com análise no Wordsmith Tools 7. Por fim, o trabalho avalia a complexidade da operação, as possibilidades de avanço futuro e a utilidade do vocabulário. |
| Abstract: | The constant release of new installments of specific audiovisual franchises engages numerous professionals in the translation industry. Especially in the case of Star Wars, several entries are released every year, and with the consolidation of the franchise in popular culture, its elements are constantly referenced in other media that will also be translated. Therefore, this paper proposes the insertion of a bilingual English/Portuguese Star Wars vocabulary in VoTec (Vocabulario Técnico Online), a web environment for terminology management for professional translators and translation students. To implement this insertion, a corpus of the canonical universe of Star Wars, including films, books, series, and animated series, was created using Wordsmith Tools 7. Lastly, the study examines the complexity of the operation, the possibilities for future advancement and the usefulness of the vocabulary. |
