O impacto do distanciamento social causado pela pandemia da COVID-19 na vida profissional de mães da cidade de Uberlândia - MG

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the professional and financial impact on the lives of mothers after the isolation of COVID-19 in a medium-sized city in the interior of Minas Gerais, based on field research on how some of these women organized themselves with their double shifts, if they managed to keep their jobs and at the same time help with their children's education. Data were collected through forms monitored with a group of 11 women from the city of Uberlândia-MG, women who are mothers and have or already had formal jobs, constituting a non-probabilistic sample using the decision by judgment. Analyzing the results obtained, it was found that several women who responded to the survey remained in their respective jobs and did not stay at home office, they maintained the routine of going out to work, but with much greater difficulty, as they were exposed to the risk of contracting the virus and the worst, transmit it to their children, and this brought fear and anguish to them. Others choose to leave their jobs to be with their children, because they do not have help to care for the child, or because of the fear of contracting the virus, which has affected their financial life. This is due to the social and economic condition of these women, as they had no other alternative, those who remained in their jobs needed them and even with fear had to continue going out to work and those who left their jobs had no one to leave their children with, which that made these mothers more independent and insecure.
