Variabilidade temporal de Cryptinae (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) em um fragmento de mata mesófila no município de Ituiutaba – MG

Abstract

Parasitoid wasps belonging to order Hymenoptera lay their eggs on another arthropod and their larvae consume it, leading to death. In this way wasps life cycle is related to its host and also depend on biotic and abiotic factors. The aims of this study was to identify the patterns of temporal variability of the subfamily Cryptinae (Ichneumonidae) in a fragment of Dr. Petrônio Chaves Park in the city of Ituiutaba – MG to understand the relationship between climatic patterns and the abundance of these insects. From February to October 2019, colored pantraps were placed on a trail in the park. Fifty-seven specimens of the Cryptinae subfamily were collected, which were separated into seven morphotypes according to their morphological characteristics. The peak abundance of species occurred at the dry season, from June to August 2019, and a negative correlation of abundance with temperature was observed. Thus, Cryptinae is considered to have an atypical temporal variability pattern in this studied region.
