Representação artística da mulher através do retrato

Abstract

This course is focused on the production area containing 8 oil paintings measuring 50cm x 40cm, which depict women and their respective cultures, plus a portrait search of the regions covered in the paintings (Japan, Thailand , Amazon Forest, Angola, Scotland, Afghanistan and the United States of America) and a mirror. I also describe the trajectory of my portrait studies, my first experiments to date. In the research is an investigation on the woman and their respective cultures, clothes, adornments and their traces. Through an analysis of images, a vision of each culture that will be portrayed in this work was drawn, representing one of the varied visions that exist in each region. The characters aim to demonstrate the influence of culture on the diversity, dress, behavior and identity of women around the world. The observer will analyze each woman represented, so to reflect on their reality and history, will also come across a mirror that will introduce you to work, to see your reflection will see that it is included in a society and culture. I chose to work with the figure of the woman because I have an easy time recognizing and representing feminine traits and expressions and believing that the female figure with her dress, adornments and expressions is a strong representative of the cultural characteristics of her environment. This research is divided into three chapters: The first chapter "Pictorial Representations: Portraits and Self-portraits", The second chapter "Cultural Identity: Dress and adornment" and the third chapter "Women and their nuances”.
