O jogo verbal vs. não-verbal: (re)formulação de esteriotipias nas estampilustradas Primeiras estórias

Abstract

According to the theoretical perspective of French Discourse Analysis, taking into consideration a few notions belonged to Freud-Lacanian Psychoanalysis and to Theory of Enunciation construct as well, I analyzed a few aspects of the relation between verbal (V) and non-verbal (NV) that constitutes, functions and produces sense and interpreting effects within "estampilustradas" Primeiras estórias (PE) by Guimarães Rosa. Specifically, I analyzed how this V vs. NV relation constitutes a hybrid symbolic material base over which discourse is laid and can signify the stereotype (re)formulation process within "Sorôco, sua mãe, sua filha", "O espelho" and "Substância" so entitled tales of PE. The stereotype reformulation process is responsible for establishing the signification of PE tales upon equivocity, which produces a paradox effect by contesting and relativizing stereotypes as a proper site for returning, repetition and dissemination of certain sense networks in place of others (FERREIRA, 2001; SOUZA, 1999). By contesting the stability of certain stereotypes with (re)formulation, the function-author work (ORLANDI, 2001) consists of pushing PE as a cultural object from the domain of logically stabilized universes within which the relation between V and NV is mainly lateral towards the domain of universes that are logically not stabilized (PÊCHEUX, 1997b, 1997c) within which the relation between V and NV is constructed by taking into consideration their material symbolic specificity and necessity. Therefore the stereotype (re)formulation process as it is realized this way orders the paradox construction as ciphered formulas that correspond to certain reading gesture of human condition in the world, which is the prior subject of PE. Acting this way function-author codify the relation between V and NV characters so that it can signify the contingent emergency of (re)formulated stereotypes. Therefore function-author "tailors" PE tales such as photograph records of human ephemeral (transitory) condition in the world that is records of very short moments picked in/from infinite. This ephemeral human condition does not bear imaginary completion as what should determine the order of discourse or the character of sense. As function-author demands a reading gesture that pushes simultaneously both operations of ciphering and deciphering it establishes for the tales a temporary site for interpretation which is not able to meet a definite closure for their signification. Analysis shows, on the contrary, that the stereotype (re)formulation process run over a non-lateral relation between V and NV presents the tales as enigmas for which there are no keys though. This keeps the signification of the tales "open" and held upon contingency.
