Abstract: Introduction: Currently, there has been an increase in migration flows to Brazil, driven by wars, natural disasters, and the search for better living conditions, resulting in a rise in the number of immigrants, including children. The health and development of this group may be affected by the migration process due to exposure to food insecurity, conflict, infectious diseases, and a shortage of basic resources. Thus, the study aimed to assess the nutritional status of immigrant children in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted with children aged 2 to just under 7 years old who were served by a non-governmental organization in the municipality.Weight and height were measured, and data such as date of birth, country of birth, and race/ethnicity were obtained through a translated questionnaire completed by the guardian. A descriptive analysis was performed, calculating absolute and relative frequencies. Prevalence comparisons were made using Pearson’s chi-square or Fisher’s exact tests, with a significance level of 5% (p < 0.05). The analyses were performed using SPSS version 21. Results: Thirty children were evaluated, mostly from Venezuela (51.7%), of white race/ethnicity (41.4%), and male (56.7%). Growth delay was identified in 6.7% of the children, and overweight in 26.7%. However, there was no significant association between nutritional status and sex, age, race/ethnicity, or country of birth. Conclusion: Although eutrophism and adequate height are predominant, there are significant nutritional deviations, indicating the need to develop and implement specific measures and public policies aimed at improving the health of this highly vulnerable population.
