Cartografias de corpos bixas: o movimento de criar modos de existência

Abstract

This Graduation Thesis investigates the constitution of the bixa body as an ethical, aesthetic, and political creation, understanding it as an inventive mode of existence in the face of the violence produced by heteronormativity. Starting from the image of the "bullet in the heart," proposed by Paul B. Preciado (2020), it is understood that the experience of sexual dissidence leaves deep marks, but also opens up the possibility of creating other worlds and other ways of living. In dialogue with Paco Vidarte (2019), the research understands bixa ethics as a collective commitment to transform the vulnerability and failure imposed by the norm into political and community power. These perspectives approach the Foucaultian notion of aesthetics of existence, in which life ceases to be merely an object of norms to become a work in permanent creation, and Suely Rolnik's (2016) cartography, understood as tracking the processes of subjectivity production and the affects that cross the body. Methodologically, the research articulates cartography with letter writing, assuming the researcher's body as a territory of experience and knowledge production. The study engages with the fields of dance, performance, philosophy, and psychology, intertwining autobiographical experiences, artistic references, and dialogues with bixa artists to investigate how artistic practices can produce modes of existence that deviate from the norm. Structured into chapters, the study explores the autobiographical experience of the constitution of the bixa body, develops its conceptual foundation grounded in the aesthetics of existence, establishes epistolary exchanges with intersecting artists, and concludes by reflecting on the bixa body as a collective production of life. It is argued that assuming the mark of difference, rather than concealing it, transforms violence into a creative gesture, turning the bixa body into a territory of invention, resistance, and the fabulation of other possible futures.
