| Summary: | Esta monografia examina os diferentes modais de transporte no Brasil, com ênfase no modal rodoviário e em seus terminais, destacando os desafios decorrentes da concentração do sistema de transporte em um único modal, além de problematizar a segurança e conforto de seus usuários. O estudo também analisa a cidade de Ribeirão Preto, abordando sua trajetória histórica, processo de urbanização, matriz de transporte, além de avaliar o atual terminal rodoviário, considerado obsoleto, e o potencial do sistema ferroviário na região. Ademais, o texto aborda a questão do desenvolvimento sustentável e sua relação com a mobilidade regional, apresentando os Terminais Intermodais como uma alternativa para diversificação e aprimoramento do transporte no país. Para finalizar, são apresentadas referências arquitetônicas e uma proposta para implantação de um novo Terminal na cidade de Ribeirão Preto, propondo uma solução integrada, eficiente e sustentável para o sistema de transporte local. |
| Abstract: | This monograph examines the different transportation modes in Brazil, with an emphasis on the road sector and its terminals, highlighting the challenges resulting from the concentration of the transportation system in a single mode, as well as addressing issues related to user safety and comfort. The study also analyzes the city of Ribeirão Preto, covering its historical development, urbanization process, transportation matrix, and evaluating the current bus terminal, which is considered outdated, as well as the potential of the railway system in the region. Additionally, the text discusses sustainable development and its relationship with regional mobility, presenting Intermodal Terminals as an alternative for diversification and improvement of transportation in the country. To conclude, case studies and a proposal for the implementation of a new terminal in Ribeirão Preto are presented, proposing an integrated, efficient, and sustainable solution for the local transportation system. |
