Abstract: Mimicry is a central ecological interaction for insect survival, yet it remains understudied in tropical biomes. This study characterized Batesian mimicry and potential Müllerian rings between wasps and flies in the savannah biome of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Active sampling was conducted in Uberlândia (MG) from May 2025 to June 2026 during the morning period (7:00 AM to 11:00 AM). The 16 specimens obtained (7 wasps and 9 flies) underwent morphometric laboratory analysis focusing on phenotypic convergence and temporal overlap. Faithful chromatic overlap was observed, featuring a black body with homologous white markings on the head and thorax, along with hyaline wings and a pedunculate abdomen. Temporal activity synchrony, with a joint peak at 9:00 AM, and shared micro-habitat in open vegetation enhance mimetic efficacy. This study provides the first detailed description of this system in the region, highlighting how the mimic exploits the warning signal shared between species to reduce predation pressure.
