Logística reversa do óleo lubrificante e seus resíduos relacionados, na cidade de Uberlândia: diagnóstico do descarte e as responsabilidades ambientais envolvidas

Abstract

This study aims to diagnose the reverse logistics of Used or Contaminated Lubricating Oil (UCO) and its related residues—packaging and filters—in the city of Uberlândia, Minas Gerais. Based on the National Solid Waste Policy (Law No. 12,305/10), the research analyzes the responsibilities of generators and collectors in the regional context. Through a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach, the current flow of these residues was investigated. The results indicate that while the liquid oil chain (UCO) is consolidated due to the rerrefining industry's maturity and ANP oversight, there are significant bottlenecks regarding the disposal of plastic packaging and filters. It was identified that the low density of Voluntary Delivery Points (VDPs) overburdens small retailers. It is concluded that shared responsibility requires greater integration between chain links and the strengthening of sector partnerships to ensure environmental compliance and operational sustainability in the municipality.
