Abstract

This thesis investigates the essence of Buddhist philosophy, focusing on the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, and the Doctrine of Impermanence. The research explores the historical development of Buddhism, from Siddhartha Gautama to the formation of its main schools — Theravāda, Mahāyāna, and Vajrayāna — highlighting their philosophical and spiritual contributions. The study concludes that Buddhism, more than a religion, constitutes an ethical and practical system of inner transformation, offering reflections and tools to face human suffering and to foster a conscious, ethical, and compassionate life.
