Etnomídia Xakriabá e a aplicação da Lei 11.645/08 na sala de aula

Abstract

This work stems from the finding that Indigenous peoples have been silenced and that history teaching materials in Brazil are filled with prejudices and stereotypes regarding them, a practice that contributes to their invisibility and epistemicide. Its main objective is to analyze the decolonial pedagogical potential of ethnomedia, particularly from the Xakriabá people, in order to effectively implement Law 11.645/08. The methodology, therefore, included a bibliography featuring several Indigenous authors, combined with a case study that analyzes decolonial audiovisual productions and their possibilities for classroom application. The research demonstrates that Xakriabá ethnomedia is an effective tool in the counter-narrative struggle. History teaching, when aligned with this counter-colonial idea as proposed in the pedagogical framework, is capable of structuring an anti-racist education. After all, it is not enough to know about Indigenous peoples; it is necessary to listen to them.
