Entre a serra e a saudade: O ensino de História em cena.

Abstract

This paper reports on the creation, production and performance of a play developed with high school students at the Manoel Gonçalves Boaventura School, in Arapuá (MG), as a proposal for valuing local history and preserving collective memory. Given the scarcity of historical records about the municipality, the activity sought to transform fragmented sources - such as oral records, ecclesiastical documents and community reports - into dramaturgical material. The resulting play was constructed collaboratively between students and teachers, allowing direct contact with the town's past and promoting the construction of identity and belonging. The work advocates the use of historical theater as an active pedagogical tool in history teaching, capable of raising awareness, involving and educating through art.
