Spiderwick: memorial de um processo de drama com crianças

Abstract

This thesis aims to report and reflect on the creation and implementation of a Drama process with children, inspired by the literary and audiovisual work “The Spiderwick Chronicles”, in the context of the community theater workshops, of the bachelor's degree in Theater at the Federal University of Uberlândia. The work is based on my personal experience with theater and my identification with childhood as a creative and pedagogical starting point. I adopt Drama as an artistic-pedagogical method, which proposes the collective construction of fictional narratives through the performance of the participants as active characters in the story. The process included the choice of a pre-text, the definition of a fictional context, the creation of teacher characters, dramatic episodes and the creation of various scenic materials, such as masks and a guide book, and how all this happened. The participating children were inserted into a universe of fantasy and mythology, developing imagination, empathy and cooperation. The work concludes that the emotional involvement generated by the materialities and the narrative contributed significantly to the engagement and learning of the participants, reinforcing the importance of theater as a pedagogical resource in early childhood education.
