Pintura: Imagens de fé

Abstract

This is a research project conducted in painting, more specifically using oil painting on canvases with openwork frames and a triptych made on wooden panels. From a Calvinist Reformed perspective, the research focuses on central themes such as creation, sin and salvation. The theoretical part is based on biblical texts and theological works, while the artistic practice is composed of a triptych and four paintings that address significant episodes in the life of Jesus. The work also establishes visual and conceptual parallels with works by artists such as Giotto, Bosch, Rembrandt, among others, to enrich the visual poetics developed. The imagery is established as an instrument of spiritual reflection, in which pictorial technique, symbolism and composition come together to convey messages about divine nature, human suffering and hope in redemption. Thus, the research articulates art and spirituality, resulting in a body of works that, in my opinion, visually translate the essence of Christianity.
