“Ela Disse” e nós também: o enfrentamento das violências de gênero no cinema hollywoodiano contemporâneo e o movimento #MeToo

Abstract

This paper presents discussions regarding the confrontation of gender violence in contemporary Hollywood cinema and the respective relations with the #MeToo movement. Based on this history, the research aims to analyze the representations of gender violence in the workplace and the main discussions raised by them in the films “The Assistant” (Kitty Green, 2019), “She Said” (Maria Schrader, 2022) and “Untouchable” (Ursula Macafalarne, 2019), considering the historical, social and political perspective in which the filmic works were produced. The “filmic constellations” proposed by Souto (2020) are used as a research method. Thus, from the three works, it was possible to observe the discussions represented in them, the female characters and, also, the direction of the filmmakers. It is hoped that this research can contribute to feminist audiovisual studies and demonstrate a universe of possibilities based on the applicability of “filmic constellations”.
