O lampejo de uma aurora: um estudo sobre as questões raciais e editoriais n'O Clarim da Alvorada (1924-1932)

Abstract

The present work seeks to study the ways in which the newspaper O Clarim da Alvorada that circulated between 1924 and 1932 in São Paulo articulated the memory and the time gone by to formulate its prospections of militancy, diagnoses of the time-of-now, as well as its idealizations for the future, understanding the desire to integrate itself into the plane of national identity through the valorization of the deeds of those blacks of the past and the current actions in favor of the call breed elevation. In addition, I also seek to learn about how the editorial board of the journal defined its paths to become an organ of combat aimed at the black population, keeping in mind both the most varied influences for such ideological positioning. This study will be accompanied primarily by historiographical considerations by Raymond Williams, regarding his considerations about the dominant and effective ideology, as well as alternative cultures and structures of feelings. Walter Benjamin's writings about the flashes of historical time and processes of remembrance will also be used and thus, understand how memories of the past transgress time.
