| Summary: | Em “Dos filhos deste solo: Construções”, a imagem da Bandeira Nacional é compreendida como ícone que pavimenta um campo de batalha ideológico: da monarquia ao Brasil República, os projetos a fim de consolidarem uma bandeira buscavam, esteticamente, instrumentalizar os ideais de nacionalismo, brasilidade e conduta como cidadão de cada época. Hoje, da alegoria à repulsa, o embate da imagem encontra-se efervescente: a apropriação partidária da extrema-direita limitou os sentidos e finalidades da Bandeira ao nível da propaganda conservadora. Em contrapartida, o processo de ressignificação da imagem também pode ser questionado: é possível neutralizar um símbolo? A que suposta ordem unificada pré- bolsonarista procura-se retornar? Cabe a investigação artística, ativa em todos as fases desses embates, o trabalho corajoso de tesnsionar, ampliar, distorcer, queimar, colorir, destruir e/ou (re)construir a Bandeira Nacional e o que ela representa. |
| Abstract: | In "Dos filhos deste solo: Construções", the image of the National Flag is seen as an icon that paves an ideological battlefield: from the monarchy to the Republic of Brazil, the projects in order to consolidate a flag sought, aesthetically, to instrumentalize the ideals of nationalism, Brazilianness and conduct the citizen of each era. Nowadays, from allegory to repulsion, the clash of the image finds itself effervescent: the partisan appropriation of the extreme right limited the meanings and purposes of the Flag to the level of conservative propaganda. On the other hand, the image resignification process can also be questioned: is it possible to neutralize a symbol? To what supposed pre-Bolsonaro unified order do we seek to return? It is up to artistic investigation, active in all phases of these clashes, the courageous work of tensioning, expanding, distorting, burning, coloring, destroying and/or (re)building the National Flag and what it represents. |
