| Summary: | A saúde bucal desempenha uma função crucial na qualidade de vida do indivíduo, e o edentulismo compromete de maneira direta a interação social, a eloquência verbal, o sorriso e a autoestima do paciente. Sendo assim, objetivo deste trabalho é relatar um caso de reabilitação oral utilizando como alternativa imediata a transformação da prótese parcial removível do paciente em prótese total, para que não ocasionasse nenhum prejuízo estético e funcional após exodontia dos pilares da prótese removível, e, posteriormente, reabilitando o paciente com o uso de próteses removíveis total superior e parcial inferior, para restabelecimento da função e da estética do paciente, aumentando a qualidade de vida do mesmo. Dessa forma, a reabilitação visa minimizar os impactos funcionais e estéticos, proporcionando qualidade de vida e mantendo a rotina do paciente sem impactos negativos significativos. O planejamento adequado e a experiência nas etapas de fabricação são essenciais para o sucesso do tratamento. |
| Abstract: | Oral health plays a crucial role in an individual's quality of life, and edentulism directly affects social interaction, verbal eloquence, smiling, and the patient's self-esteem. Therefore, the objective of this study is to report a case of oral rehabilitation using, as an immediate alternative, the transformation of the patient's removable partial denture into a complete denture to prevent any aesthetic and functional impairment after the extraction of the removable denture's abutments. Subsequently, the patient was rehabilitated with a maxillary complete removable denture and a mandibular partial removable denture to restore function and aesthetics, thereby improving the patient's quality of life. Thus, rehabilitation aims to minimize functional and aesthetic impacts, providing quality of life and allowing the patient to maintain their routine without significant negative effects. Proper planning and expertise in the fabrication process are essential for the success of the treatment. |
