Entre o material e o imaterial: a preservação cultural do Bairro Patrimônio

Abstract

The term cultural heritage has undergone transformations over the years, aiming to cover an increasingly wider range, including all forms of art, from monumental to vernacular, from individual to collective, from popular to erudite, from urban to rural; including not only the tangible but also the intangible. This master's research aims to collect iconographic and cartographic, urban and architectural material from the oldest buildings in the Patrimônio de Nossa Senhora da Abadia District, in the city of Uberlândia, as well as the cultural practices and memories of its residentes, in order to investigate and enable the study of the historical and social formation process of the neighborhood, and the transformation process it has undergone in recent years. In this way, the research intends to document the materiality and immateriality of the neighborhood, aiming to shed light on an important heritage of the city of Uberlândia, of great relevance due to the richness of its culture and popular traditions, which has been historically made invisible.
