Experiência da mulher-mãe quando a escola adentra a cena familiar incestuosa

Abstract

In this study, we aimed to investigate the emotional experience of mothers when the revelation of intrafamilial sexual violence suffered by a child is made at school, with the school being the notifier. Thus, we sought to understand how the mother, who is typically the non-offending parent and holds the primary caregiving role, experiences the dynamics established between herself, her child, and the school environment when she is not chosen by the child to make the revelation of incest. We conducted six psychoanalytic interviews mediated by the presentation of an interactive narrative, and each interview resulted in a transference narrative written by the interviewer. The material, composed of the transference narratives and the outcomes of the interactive narratives, was analyzed psychoanalytically according to Multiple Field Theory. Three fields were identified, named “Exposure,” “(Dis)trust,” and “Exclusion.” The first describes how the revelation of incest at school is felt by the participants as an invasion of family intimacy, awakening feelings of exposure and the need for the issue to be maximally avoided. The second discusses the feeling of distrust that permeates the triad of mother, child, and the Protection Network, affecting all components. The third highlights the various exclusions enacted by mothers when confronted with their own exclusion in the scene of their children’s revelation at school. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the care of mothers experiencing this specific situation and stimulate reflections on the potential of the school environment in the maintenance of the mother-child-school bond.
