Subnotificação de casos de violência contra a mulher

Abstract

The violence suffered by women is a historical dilemma, given the male domination rooted in society. Thus, women are constantly victims of violence not only in the social environment, at work, on the street, but also within their own homes. Therefore, they face even more difficulties in reporting. This work will address the phenomenon of the black figure in the context of domestic violence against women. The objective is to study violence against women as a whole, the types of violence, the cycle of violence, the Maria da Penha Law, its history, investigate the existence of underreporting of cases and understand the main reasons why the black cipher exists, as well as understanding its consequences, in addition to the meaning of this expression. Violence against women in Brazil is a problem that, despite the recorded numbers being alarming, there are still many unreported cases, which makes the situation even more worrying and in need of action. The research is bibliographic, covering books, scientific articles and research websites. It was concluded that, despite legislative innovations, there is still much to be done to reduce the concealment of these crimes. Furthermore, there are several factors that cause cases to be underreported, meaning that the low incidence of domestic violence against women still persists.
