O relacionamento entre profissionais de saúde e pacientes com fibromialgia: proposta de cartilha para profissionais de saúde

Abstract

Fibromyalgia is a clinical condition characterized by chronic and widespread pain, surrounded by uncertainties regarding its validity and diagnosis. In this context, the healthcare professional-patient relationship can be complex and frustrating for both parties. The invalidation and lack of preparedness of healthcare professionals have a negative impact on the quality of life of people with fibromyalgia, adding a significant burden to their symptoms. Therefore, the aim of this study is to develop a booklet for healthcare professionals on their relationship with patients with fibromyalgia. To achieve this, a narrative literature review was conducted, with a qualitative synthesis of 19 articles. The steps involved in creating the booklet allowed for the mapping, articulation, and identification of the main issues related to the relationship between healthcare professionals and individuals with fibromyalgia. Thus, the booklet sought to address the different problems experienced in this relationship, as delimited by the references included in the literature sample. The booklet included relevant aspects of the scientific literature to be elaborated in the relationship between health professional and patient with FM, which can direct the clinical practice of professionals and expand patient care.
