Métodos de ensino e aprendizagem de inglês: análises bibliométricas e cienciométricas de 2017-2021

Abstract

This research aimed at gathering, analyzing and mapping several undergraduate and graduate works on the theme “post-method in English teaching”. The objective was to verify the existence or not of a new method of teaching English after Kumaravadivelu’s (1994, 2001, 2003) theorizing. Through quantitative and qualitative analyses, 138 undergraduate and graduate papers on the subject were collected based on the functionalities of the Publish or Perish software, which allows direct collection from Google Scholar platform. The quantitative and qualitative analyses were implemented from bibliometrics and scientometrics to gather the keywords and the contents of these papers based on a time frame of the last five years, i.e., from 2017 to 2021. The results showed the inexistence of a new or infallible method for teaching and learning English in the analyzed corpus.
