Sistematização da assistência de enfermagem para pacientes em cuidados paliativos oncológicos na fase final de vida: relato de experiência

Abstract

Introduction: The palliative care is an approach that seeks to promote the quality life of patients and their families, when faced with life-threatening diseases and without prognosis of cure. The Systematization of Nursing Care (SAE) in oncologic palliative care is one of the tools used for this promotion, where prevention, control, relief of symptoms, and support for biopsychosocial needs are sought. The work of the multiprofessional team assists the care needs, through the instability of the patient's clinical picture and imminent death. Objective: To report and describe the experience of the author while a resident of the Oncology Care Program in the Palliative Care Ambulatory of UFU Clinic Hospital in the development of the Systematization of Nursing Care to patients at the end-of-life stage, as well as their caregivers/family members. Methodology: This is a descriptive study of qualitative nature in the modality of experience report developed from December 2021 to March 2022 linking the experience to specialized literature on the subject. Results and Discussion: Through telephone service, home visits, and outpatient care, the nursing team guides patients and caregivers at a distance, answering their questions and offering solutions to their complaints. Among the complaints found, it was possible to emphasize the occurrence of pain and constipation. Conclusion: It is possible to apply the SAE, which can optimize nursing work by standardizing care, diagnoses and possible interventions to be performed. The importance of nursing in palliative care was evidenced by providing integral and humanized care.
