| Summary: | Já são quase quarenta anos de presença social do HIV e da Aids nas sociedades ao redor do mundo, fato que levou a transformações não só ao nível da concepção da doença, mas também, nos comportamentos sexuais das pessoas. Desde a epidemia da Aids dos anos 80, muito se tem feito acerca do combate ao vírus HIV a fim de se evitar o crescimento do número de doentes e infectados. Contudo, ainda são muitos os atingidos pela infecção e, nos últimos anos, esse número tem aumentado. Este trabalho trata-se de um estudo teórico que tem por objetivo fazer uma análise acerca das estratégias de enfrentamento à soropositividade ao HIV nos dias atuais, tanto a nível da prevenção como do tratamento e acompanhamento da infecção. Foi observado que os grandes avanços na eficácia e na qualidade do tratamento antirretroviral, assim como a utilização dos métodos de Prevenção Combinada e da PrEP e da PEP possibilitaram um aumento significativo na qualidade de vida de pessoas soropositivas, sendo mecanismo principal para o combate e o enfrentamento do vírus. Além disso, outros instrumentos se fazem presentes como o acompanhamento médico adequado e humanizado, a família e amigos como redes sociais de apoio e a influência de aspectos religiosos como fontes de fortalecimento psicológico e de esperança frente ao HIV. |
| Abstract: | It has been almost forty years of social presence of HIV and Aids in societies around the world, a fact that has led to changes not only in the level of exposure of the disease, but also in the sexual activities of people. Since the Aids epidemic in the 1980s, much has been done about combating the HIV virus in order to prevent the growth in the number of sick and infected. However, there are still many hitted of the infection and, in recent years, this number has increased. This work is a theoretical study that aims to analyze the strategies for coping with HIV seropositivity today, both in terms of prevention and treatment and monitoring of the infection. It was observed that the great advances in the efficacy and quality of antiretroviral treatment, as well as the use of Combined Prevention and PrEP and PEP methods have enabled a significant increase in the quality of life of seropositive people, being the main mechanism for combating and preventing coping with the virus. In addition, other instruments are present, such as adequate and humanized medical care, family and friends as social support networks and the influence of religious aspects as sources of psychological strengthening and hope in the face of HIV. |
