Resultados econômicos e zootécnicos de um confinamento de bovinos de corte realizado em Uberlândia-mg

Abstract

The demand for meat is increasing and consequently the number of confined animals in the world is also increasing. Thus, new ways to make cattle farming feasible are being sought, making it increasingly profitable and profitable, in order to increase the supply for the consumer market. The present study aimed to analyze the costs and profits obtained in a beef cattle feedlot, as well as the zootechnical results achieved in it. In the study in question, 846 animals were used in feedlots, divided into the categories of cows, heifers, yearling steers and bulls of the breeds Nelore, Caracu and Mestizos. The economic variables analyzed were: cost/animal/day, buying and selling cost, profit per head and the zootechnical variables: weight gain per day, dry matter consumption, feed conversion, carcass yield, input weight and output weight. The analysis was done using the Feed Manager averaging program. The results showed that the best carcass yield was achieved by males and bulls and animals of the nelore breed. Regarding the economic variables, the yearling steers were the animals that provided the highest profitability.
