Análise da função sexual de gestantes primíparas no terceiro trimestre gestacional.

Abstract

The sexual function is how the body behaves to different stages and sexual response stimuli such as: desire; excitement; lubrication; orgasm; satisfaction and pain. Domains that are important for the sexual function of pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time defined by several biological, functional, psychological and social changes that can directly influence sexual function. Objective: To evaluate sexual function in healthy pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy and its correlation with muscle variables. Methodology: The sample consisted of pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy, between the 33rd and 36th weeks, aged over 18 years and primigravid. The participants were assessed using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire to assess sexual function. Vaginal manometry was also performed to assess the strength of the pelvic floor muscles and assessment of perineal distensibility, with the Epi-No Delphine Plus®️ equipment. Results: 34 pregnant women were included among sexually active women, with a mean of 22.8±5.8 in the FSFI questionnaire score, indicative of sexual dysfunction. Correlation analysis was performed between the variables total score of the FSFI questionnaire and the values found for age, muscle distensibility and manometry of the pelvic floor muscles, being mean and peak. None of the variables showed a significant correlation with the values of the total score of the FSFI questionnaire. Conclusion: This study concluded that the third trimester of pregnancy is associated with poor quality of female sexual function and that this is not related to muscle variables.
