Abstract

This work approaches the production of an architectural project with the theme Samba School, in the city of Uberlândia-MG. To understand all the history and culture that schools carry back to Brazil, as a colony, we will go through the entire history of the country in the eyes of the samba artists with an emphasis on important events and also how samba becomes a national and world prominence. After punctuating the historical context in the city of Rio de Janeiro we will present how the samba culture was born in Uberlândia and its influences reflect on City. We will also show the occupied spaces and how the city is an essential stage of the social manifestations and interactions. A samba school is much more than a group of people playing on the avenue, behind it there are families, often peripheral, in search of a representation with a willingness to express their culture and art. When designing a school it is I need to think about how and where it will be inserted in the urban fabric and how it can, as a social agent, change the life of a community. Inspired by existing schools and the knowledge added throughout the graduation is proposed a new headquarters for the school of Samba Unidos do Chatão, in the neighborhood Appeared in Uberlândia, working on all architectural concepts such as acoustics in musical space and thermal comfort due to the climate and materials used for the design of a construction, which minimizes the use of artificial ventilation. The topic will be worked of the urban in the insertion of the school in the neighborhood, being a support for the region, since we will propose integration with the state school for regular education, located next door, and the community.
