| Summary: | O objetivo desse texto é relatar e discutir uma experiência de caráter extensionista em Educação Ambiental realizada entre 2018 e 2019 na comunidade Taboca, no município de Presidente Olegário, estado de Minas Gerais. Com base na perspectiva crítica da Educação Ambiental, foram realizadas oficinas temáticas com a referida comunidade. Apesar de dificuldades como o tempo, a precariedade das estruturas da comunidade e a baixa adesão dos jovens, observamos o fortalecimento comunitário, o ativo relacionamento com o poder público, melhora nas condições ambientais locais e a satisfação dos moradores da região por verem que eles podem protagonizar mudanças em sua realidade. A oportunidade foi enriquecedora e o curso de Engenharia Ambiental da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia deve atentar-se para a formação teórico-prática da Educação Ambiental de seus futuros profissionais. |
| Abstract: | The focus of this text is to report and discuss an extensionist character experience in Environmental Education held between 2018 and 2019 in the Taboca community, in the city of Presidente Olegário, Minas Gerais state. Based on the critical perspective of Environmental Education, thematic workshops were held with this community. Despite difficulties such as the weather, the precariousness of the city’s structures and the low adherence of young people, we observed community strengthening, we observes the functional relationship with the public power, the improvement in local environmental conditions and the satisfaction of the region’s residents to notice that they can lead changes in their own reality. The opportunity was rewarding and the Environmental Engineering course from the Federal University of Uberlândia should pay attention towards the theoretical-practical training of Environmental Education of its future professionals. |
