Projeto ABC do Glória: construindo uma atuação em Psicologia Escolar e Educação Popular

Abstract

The objective of this academic work it is to analyse the construction of the actuation of the School Psychology and Popular Education in the contest of the Non-governmental Organization, as of an experience in a project called “Projeto ABC do Glória: Empoderar para transformar” located in Uberlândia-Minas Gerais. The intention is to discuss the political and the social commitment of this actuation in Psychology, together with the popular education in the current circumstances and the theoretical-pratique bases in the Popular Education, and as well as in Historical-cultural psychology. Therefore, a written essay from the perspective of a member in the “Projeto ABC do Glória” which is also a psychology student is introduced. The purpose is to enable an enlargement of comprehension about the actuation of the Psychology in the third sector, to make available and stimulate new discussions about this new role of the psychologist in theoretical and practical contexts. Three pillars are presented for discussion: a) School Psychology and its actuation, its ethical-political commitment, aspects discussed from the performance in the project and the challenges involved in building a Psychology Commission, founded in the participation of interested volunteers in practice with children, adolescents and also in the study and development of social impact actions, focused on political-pedagogical and social care;b) The Popular Education, its history and perspectives based in the theoretical propositions of Paulo Freire and also in his resistance posture in the face of assistencialism, acting to develop the potential of children, adolescents and the community. c) the last pillar of this essay refers to the construction of the Non-governmental Organization* (ONG) and the Civil Society Organisation (OSC), discussing the social commitments of a third sector project, the historical path in Brazil and the impacts and relational processes of the project in and for the community, together with the powers of the experiences and dialogues provided with the construction of bonds.It is concluded that the discussions and scenes reported in this essay are materials that allow theoretical and practical reflections on the performance in a social project based on political and critical psychology. Therefore, it is an essay that proposes a debate about the performance in School Psychology and Popular Education in a context of social vulnerability aiming to expand the powers of the children and adolescents participating in the mentioned project and also provide academic and theoretical discussions about the performance in that territory.
