| Summary: | O presente trabalho visa analisar os efeitos causados pela pandemia de COVID-19, ao longo do primeiro semestre de 2020, no sistema penitenciário brasileiro. Objetiva-se observar, especialmente, como a ausência de ações governamentais efetivamente funcionais ao combate do novo coronavírus e a ineficiência das medidas implementadas supostamente para impedir a propagação da doença no cárcere, produzem resultados negativos não por puro descuido, negligência ou infortúnio do Estado, como é comumente alegado e propagado ao senso comum. Expõe-se, ao longo do texto, que a ineficácia é, na verdade, uma ação coordenada veladamente por governantes, que agem baseados na suposta “hierarquia” eugenista e na lógica perversa da necropolítica, colocada em prática por meio de mecanismos de extermínio daqueles que compõe o grupo dos “menos valorosos” à sociedade capitalista, como é o caso da população prisional. |
| Abstract: | The present work aims to analyze the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, during the first semester of 2020, in the Brazilian prison system. The objective is to observe, in particular, how the absence of governmental actions effectively functional to fight the new coronavirus and the inefficiency of the measures supposedly implemented to prevent the spread of the disease in prison, produce negative results not due to pure carelessness, negligence or misfortune of the State, as it is commonly claimed and propagated to common sense. It is exposed, throughout the text, that the ineffectiveness is, in fact, an action coordinated veiled by government officials, who act based on the supposed eugenic “hierarchy” and on the perverse logic of the necropolitics, put into practice by means of extermination mechanisms of those that makes up the group of “least valued” to capitalist society, as is the case of the prison population. |
