Os caminhos e descaminhos dos moradores da Vila de São Jorge-GO a partir dos efeitos da implantação do Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros

Abstract

The concern to protect nature avoiding the animal and vegetal species’ extiction derived from human’s intervention because of the consumption – production relationship pushed the creation of protected natural areas around the world. However, remote places sometimes considered unpopulated, are now the home of many human groups that have survived the relationship with the nature different from the logic urban-industrial one and, therefore, establish lifestyles that show nature’s addiction. Yet, the goals of the environment protection once the current model of creation and introduction of conservation plants is presented in an antagonistic form face to the needs and interest of the population affected by the effort to protect the nature. With this in mind, this study was done in Vila de São Jorge, county of Alto Paraíso de Goiás- Go and at Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park with the intention of analysing the instalation of conservation units and also understand the importance of nature preservation, made with the integrated work of human, animal and vegetal life. For this job it was used the approach of qualitative and quantitative researches.The bibliographical research allowed us to analyse the position of many standarts of ecological thoughts and its relation with the risk’s theory and its interface with geography. The field research allowed to establish a link between the theoretical and concrete basis of the analysed phenomenon and the study of the case allowed to recognize the problems based on the opinions of São Jorge’s residents, new or old ones. While finishing up the research, we tried to mention the question: how to create integral units of preservation without canceling the original elements of the place like natural goods, human, animal and vegetal life. This way, it was found that Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park has become an important factor of support and way of life to the residents of Vila de São Jorge and also that it is possible to establish a link between the effort to nature conservation and the local people, since there is a dialogue, participation, integration and consideration to the economic, social and cultural needs of the local residents.
