Summary:	No âmbito da Assistência Social, à qual foi garantida como direito pela Constituição Federal de 1988, os Centros de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS) são órgãos estatais que atuam nos territórios que possuem alto índice de vulnerabilidade e riscos sociais. Os CRAS executam programas, projetos e serviços de Proteção Social Básica, garantindo direitos aos vulneráveis, fortalecendo assim, vínculos familiares e sociais, além de promover a autonomia dos mesmos. Sob a temática da participação dos idosos nas atividades do CRAS-Pirapitinga, esta pesquisa pretendeu esclarecer quais os fatores que propiciam a participação em atividades disponibilizadas para os idosos no CRAS- Pirapitinga. Partiu-se do pressuposto de que os idosos não estão dispostos a frequentar atividades de entretenimento pelo fato de não se sentirem mais uteis na sociedade, e que, portanto, preferem permanecer em seu lar, deste modo, sem interação externa não recebem informações do que é ofertado. O objeto de estudo foi a participação dos idosos nas atividades oferecidas no CRAS. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida no Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS) - Pirapitinga no município de Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais que desenvolvem diversas atividades. A presente pesquisa foi desenvolvida em três etapas: pesquisa bibliográfica, pesquisa de campo e análise dos dados. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram dez idosos, sete do sexo feminino e três do sexo masculino, com idade sessenta a oitenta e dois anos de idade. Para que a pesquisa de campo fosse realizada, foi realizada a entrevista semiestruturada com a utilização do formulário contendo perguntas abertas e fechadas aos participantes que assinaram o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido. A análise dos dados possibilitou entender os motivos que levaram os idosos à participarem das atividades do CRAS, bem como, os tipos de demanda e os benefícios adquiridos, levando a síntese de que os idosos possuem uma visão otimista quanto a realização das atividades realizadas, o que contribui imensamente para sua qualidade de vida.
Abstract:	In the context of Social assistance, which was guaranteed as a right by the Federal constitution of 1988, the Social Assistance Referral Centers (CRAS) are state agencies that operate in territories that have a high rate of vulnerability and social risks. CRAS execute programs, projects and services of basic Social protection, guaranteeing rights to the vulnerable, thus strengthening family and social bonds, in addition to promoting their autonomy. Under the theme of the participation of the elderly in the activities of the CRAS-Pirapitinga, this research intended to clarify the factors that favor the participation in activities made available to the elderly in the CRAS-Pirapitinga. It was assumed that the elderly are not willing to attend entertainment activities because they do not feel more useful in society, and therefore prefer to remain in their homes, thus, without external interaction they receive no information of what is offered. The object of study was the participation of the elderly in the activities offered in the CRAS. The research was developed in the center of Reference for Social assistance (CRAS)-Pirapitinga in the municipality of Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais that develop various activities. The present research was developed in three stages: Bibliographic research, field research and data analysis. The study subjects were ten elderly, seven females and three males, aged 60 to 82 years of age. For the field research to be performed, a semi-structured interview was performed with the use of the form containing open and closed questions to the participants who signed the informed consent. Data analysis made it possible to understand the reasons that led the elderly to participate in the activities of the CRAS, as well as the types of demand and the benefits acquired, leading to the synthesis that the elderly have an optimistic view of the accomplishment of the activities Made, which contributes immensely to their quality of life.
