Summary:	Desde o início da história de Ituiutaba, as farmácias se fazem presentes como importantes estabelecimentos para a população, principalmente no que tange aos cuidados dos moradores. Ao longo da história, muitas mudanças ocorreram no setor das farmácias, como a presença de um profissional farmacêutico durante o período que o estabelecimento comercial está aberto ao público, um novo modelo comercial, em virtude do mercado competitivo, layouts modernos e imponentes, e, em Ituiutaba, não foi diferente. Diante disso, este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar as transformações que ocorreram no setor de farmácias no município ao longo da história, comtemplando estes aspectos, com isso identificando as antigas farmácias e ainda personalidades antigas, que enriqueceram este estudo e contribuíram para o desenvolvimento deste ramo, em épocas distintas. De acordo com o procedimento metodológico, foram realizadas pesquisas bibliográficas sobre o tema, além de cinco entrevistas junto a pessoas que trabalharam ou ainda atuam no setor de farmácias na cidade. Os resultados mostraram que as transformações ocorridas neste ramo foram representativas ao longo da história e atualmente, em relação às farmácias e drogarias, Ituiutaba apresenta um cenário diversificado, contemplando deste os pequenos estabelecimentos familiares de capital próprio, até lojas pertencentes às grandes redes varejistas do país. Abstract:	Since the beginning of the history of Ituiutaba, pharmacies are present as important establishments for the population, mainly in what concerns to the care of the residents. Throughout history, many changes have occurred in the pharmacy sector, such as the presence of a professional pharmacy during the period that the commercial establishment is open to the public, a new commercial model due to the competitive market, modern and imposing layouts and, in Ituiutaba, was no different. The objective of this study was to analyze the changes that have occurred in the pharmacy sector in the municipality throughout history, analyzing these aspects, thereby identifying the old pharmacies, identifying old personalities, who enriched this study and contributed to the development of this sector, at different times. According to the methodological procedure, bibliographic research was done on the subject, in addition to five interviews with people who worked, or still work in the pharmacy sector in the city. The results showed that the transformations that took place in this branch were representative throughout history and today, in relation to pharmacies and drugstores, Ituiutaba presents a diversified scenario, contemplating from this the small family establishments of equity, to stores belonging to the great retail chains of the country.
