Abstract

The presente work proposes a new concept of bookstore and Coffee shop in Uberlandia/MG, which seeks to explore, from the origins of commerce and its process of social relations, the interaction between society and physical space. In this proposal, we intend to present the use of design in the creation of interactive and pleasant spaces in the city. These spaces, which not only value the product, but which also present educational appeals, through the valorisation and encouragement of reading and social interaction. These are important aspects that can add socio-cultural values to the local population. Therefore, to relate these issues, an analysis of the local context was carried out, identifying a lack of these spaces in the city and addressing the importance of these spaces. In addition, trade references were used, associating their, origins and their characterization as meeting, leisure and interaction enviroments, that is, besides the exchange of goods. Three case studies were carried out, two bookstores located in the city and one in another place, to analyze the environments and their uses. As a result, the Bookstore and Coffee shop conceptual project explores through interactive elements, creative and fuctional design solutions for the physical space, which mainly serve the users. Starting from the concept of a defined interaction, it seeks to highlight positive aspects of society related to culture, the exchange of experiences and knowledge, through incentives to read (print) and social interaction (meetings, chat, etc.).
